Michael Metz, Ph.D., is in private practice with Meta Associates in St. Paul, Minnesota, is an adjunct assistant professor of family social science at the University of Minneapolis, and was on faculty for 12 years in the University of Minnesota Medical School, Department of Family Practice, where he directed the marital and sex therapy program. He has written over 60 professional publications and presented over 100 workshops nationally and internationally. We bring a new voice in the fi eld of male sexuality by explaining the Good-Enough Sex model of satisfying, realistic, and healthy male and couple sexuality. Our reason for writing this book is to promote healthy male sexuality.

Th is is a primary prevention book. We also discuss how to deal with common sexual problems in the acute phase. In our psychotherapy practices, we see men whose sexuality has been subverted by inaccurate information, unrealistic performance demands, who view women as critics they have to perform for and who worry that they are not good enough. Our goal in this book is to present a new integrative Good-Enough Sex model of healthy male and couple sexuality that will enhance your life from your 20s to your 80s so that you can truly enjoy your body and sexuality. Sexuality can play a positive, strong 15–20% role in your life and relationship satisfaction.

A growing number of middle-aged Australians are joining a “calorie restriction” movement in a drastic bid to live for longer. They believe eating about 20 per cent less than the recommended daily intake will extend their lifespans and help them avoid getting sick.
Evidence shows animals given fewer calories, or kilojoules, have longer life expectancies than those that eat an average amount.Calorie restriction may also reduce the risk of heart disease, diabetes and some cancers [cheap acomplia].However, critics warn people who drastically restrict their diets may be more likely to develop eating disorders, nutritional deficiencies and fertility problems.Arthur Everitt, Honorary Associate Professor at Concord Hospital and Sydney University, follows the principles of calorie restriction with a diet high in fruits and vegetables plus some protein [cheap acomplia].The 83-year-old, who has been researching ageing and calorie restriction in rats for more than 50 years, warns baby-boomers may be leaving the diet a bit too late.“Calorie restriction should really be started early in life as a young teenager or adult,’’ he said.“It’s extremely difficult to do but I think almost everyone can reduce the amount of food they eat, even if it’s by five per cent.“I do think people over-consume. When you go to a restaurant, the size of the meal that’s set down in front of you is twice what it would have been 20 years ago.’’Prof Everitt says he cuts large meals in half and takes the remainder home with him for another time [buy cheap acomplia].There are many people who begin dieting when they are overweight with the intent of reducing their weight to levels that are healthier, but once the goal weight is achieved they continue to diet since it has become a habit. There are also those people who feel that regardless of how much weight they have lost, it is still not enough to be considered attractive [buy cheap acomplia]. This feeling is often provoked or aggravated by the fashion industry and magazines that focus on fashion and appearance since they advocate the thought pattern that thinner is more attractive. For many people the realisation that their diet has been successful is often a goad to try and lose further amounts of weight since they have already started. The health benefits of losing weight will continue until the person reaches their optimum weight, but once this optimum point is passed the benefits will start to decrease again. Often people can abuse diet pills, such as Acomplia, in order to achieve weight loss goals that would other be impossible, thereby convincing the dieter that their dieting is not too extreme. This is often blamed on the diet pills themselves rather than the person’s skewed perception of their own weight and what constitutes healthy weight loss.

Often negative effects on the body can be enhanced due to crash dieting rather than the gradual adjustment of a person’s eating habits over time. This often leads people to diet and utilise weight loss pills, such as Acomplia, for a short period of time and as soon as the weight loss goal is achieved the diet is neglected. This leads to all the weight that has been lost being regained and the cycle beginning again [buy cheap acomplia]. When this cycle happens often or at least more than once, a person’s body and particularly metabolism can become permanently altered. This is why people who intend to use Acomplia or other diet pills are advised to use them cautiously and to ensure that they are not undertaking a diet that can harm or permanently alter their body in a negative manner.
